Establishing a Training Program
Purpose: This session introduces the basic foundation of a formal training program and outlines the general topics that will be covered throughout the Train-the-Trainer workshop. Attendees will use this information to build on and incorporate into subsequent activities throughout the workshop. This course includes lecture and interactive engagement activities.
Introduction to Adult Learning Principles
Purpose: Effectively communicating information to adult learners requires knowledge and application of evidence-based psychological and educational theories. This session introduces some basic concepts so that attendees may use this information to build on and incorporate into subsequent activities throughout the Train-the-Trainer workshop. This course includes lecture and interactive engagement activities.
Keys to Delivering Successful Presentations
Purpose: This course is designed to provide trainers an interactive experience in designing, developing or improving their presentations for a target audience. Best practices for presentation will be discussed and examined on the topics of backgrounds, animation, graphics, font use, and appropriate color choices. Trainers will create their own presentations as part of a group activity, present for constructive feedback and guidance, and reflect on areas for improvement.
Blended Learning and Simulations in Lab Animal Training Programs
Purpose: Blended learning and simulations provide a learner-centric training environment that engages learners and improves employee performance, compliance, and retention while addressing multiple learning styles. This course defines best practices in setting up a blended learning experience and examines different resources and strategies available for creating enriching engaging learning experiences for learners.
Practical Training Fundamentals & Application
Purpose: To develop strategies and skills for organizing training content that will work towards creating a learner-centric training courses and events. Participants will receive guidance and instruction on working through the process of developing a training event by examining instructional design to develop training, developing SMART objectives and setting up lesson plans, and discover the benefit of reflecting on assessment and instructional practices for improved learning outcomes.
Employee Training: A Tactical Approach to Achieving & Measuring Competency
Purpose: This course introduces the TASK methodology for assessment and improvement of employee performance. Lecture, multimedia, and hands-on activities guide trainers through using TASK methodology and developing their own assessment worksheets. Trainers will be guided through reviewing their own assessment forms and relate their work to best practices presented in the course.
Grading TASK in Campus: Trainer & Learners
Purpose: This course is to focus on the digital capabilities of TASK methodology in the Charles River LMS Campus. Participants will examine TASK from the perspective of the trainer and the learner to develop understanding of the responsibilities of each. Discussion of best practices and use of TASK in Campus will ensure trainers recognize and understand the capabilities of digital TASK methodology for tracking employee performance and developing open dialogue between trainer and trainee.
Campus Learning: Courses, Programs, Learning Plans, Reports
Purpose: This course is to familiarize trainers on the features of Campus, relating common terminology and examining their differences. Open discussion about the features and capabilities of Campus and how to best serve the needs of their facilities and learners will be at the center of this course.
